Sherburne, New York 13460
Join hops expert Alycia Schick of the Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Northeast Hop Alliance, and historian Henry Drexler who has spent many years photographing and documenting hop barns in Chenango County as we discuss the historic hops industry in Central New York, the current state of hop agriculture today, and projections for the industry in the future. The forum will begin with presentations and a conversation with Alycia and Henry followed by a short trip (transportation provided) to a local hop barn. The group will then proceed to a currently operating hop farm in Smyrna and conclude the trip at the Good Nature Brewing Tap Room. Participants will be returned to Rogers Center by approximately 1:00 pm.
