After a one year shift in time and place, the annual CNY Brewfest is back to its regular slot: It’s Super Bowl Eve (Jan. 31) at the Horticulture Building at the State Fairgrounds.
Last year, for the first time since it started in 1997, the fest had to change dates because Super Bowl Eve fell on the same day as the Syracuse Orange vs. Duke Blue Devils basketball game at the Carrier Dome. You remember that game, right?
The brewfest also returns to its regular space after last year’s move the Exhibit Center Building.
The brewfest features samples of beers from dozens of local, national and international breweries. The final list is still being worked out, but you’ll see Ithaca, Adirondack and Captain Lawrence; 21st Amendment, Uinta and Founders, and Corona and Peroni among many others.
As always, the beer fest, run by Bill Newman and Mick Wysochanski, is in two, separately ticketed sessions: The first is 1 to 4 p.m. and the second is 6 to 9 p.m. The later session is typically a little rowdier.
A ticket entitles you to sample beers (in a complimentary glass) from dozens of local, regional, national and international breweries. Food is available for purchase, and music is by Rob & the Js.
Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Advance tickets will be available at some of the local beer specialty bars and stores. For more information, email email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com, or call 471-6588 or 952-0190
